Van camping is an excellent way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the main reasons people love traveling and living in their camper vans is the freedom this lifestyle provides. Whether you're into weekend adventures, boondocking, outdoor exploration, or sports escapades, a camper van makes for a fantastic base camp on wheels.
The growing popularity of van life has led to many passionate van conversion outfitters coming to light and the creation of countless great custom builds that double as a tiny home. Today, we're going to look at a stunning camper van built for year-round adventures by a talented Canadian team.
Based on a 2022 Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 van, this micro-home on wheels is the creation of Outdoor Thrills Van Co., a young company based in Whistler, British Columbia. The outfitter specializes in bespoke van conversions designed with high functionality and stylish interiors to make you feel at home regardless of where your adventures take you. The team has more than ten years of experience in the construction industry and a lifetime of van living under their belts. Having experienced the beauty and freedom of an outdoor lifestyle firsthand, they know what makes a great home on wheels.
This Sprinter camper van is one of their most accomplished builds yet. It boasts a rather self-effacing exterior that allows owners to stealth camp and a stunningly designed interior that offers all the comforts of home. It was completed in 2023, and although it is based on a medium-wheelbase van, it offers ample room to live, work, and play while also ensuring maximum comfort and convenience for one or two travelers.

Once you slide open the side door, you'll discover a mobile habitat that combines luxury and functionality. The interior of the van boasts an open-plan layout, with no formal separation between the driver's cab and the actual living space in the back, and the passenger seat is mounted on a swivel seat base.
The designers made the most of the available space within the van. They wanted to create two zones - the kitchen/bathroom at the front and the lounge/bedroom at the back - without making the space feel smaller, and they achieved this by crafting a stunning slatted archway that not only creates this sense of separation but also acts as a beautiful decorative element.
In terms of styling, the interior boasts a nature-inspired design that brings the feeling of calm and relaxation in a quiet forest into the van. With a slated red oak ceiling, chic maple plywood cabinetry painted a beautiful Vogue green, gorgeous live-edge countertops, and soft plum upholstery in the lounge area, the living space perfectly balances warmth and luxury.

Compact yet functional, the galley kitchen comprises two custom cabinets, one on either side of the van, and impresses with its elegance. The green cabinetry is beautifully complemented by the live-edge counters and shiny tiled backsplash, while the sliding door and a large window bring in natural light. Functionally, it offers decent storage space and is equipped with a 1800W portable induction stove, a sink, and a Dometic CRX-65 fridge/freezer.
Due to the obviousspace limitations, this van doesn't have a full bathroom, but on-the-road hygiene was not neglected, as the designers cleverly integrated a pop-up underfloor shower powered by a Bosch electric water heater and a 20-gallon water tank. A composting toilet tucked away in a storage compartment completes the bathroom facilities.
A generous dinette with two face-to-face benches with integrated storage and a large Lagun table occupy the rear of the van. It is the ideal setup for dining, lounging, hanging out with friends, or even working while enjoying your surroundings. As for the sleeping arrangements, this build has a queen-sized Happijac electric bed lift, which is a great choice when you want to maximize living space without sacrificing comfort.

Meticulously designed to inspire your sense of adventure and beckon you to get behind the wheel and enjoy the open road, this camper van presents itself as a fresh and inviting mobile living space that includes not only all the necessary amenities for a stress-free van life experience but also a fully functional off-grid electrical system tailored for the nomadic lifestyle.
Whether you use your camper van for weekend getaways or long-term adventures, a reliable and efficient electrical system will bring convenience, peace of mind, and endless possibilities to your travels. This Sprinter-based conversion relies on solar power, being equipped with three 100W Renogy Solar panels on the roof and three 100Ah Renogy Lithium batteries, coupled with a 3000W Renogy Inverter Charger and 40a Renogy solar controller.
What's more, it allows owners to enjoy the beauty of nature in any season, as it is fully insulated with Havelock Wool and comes equipped with an Espar diesel heater, ensuring you'll stay warm in any weather.
Since this is a custom build, pricing details are not available. Each van conversion coming out of Outdoor Thrills Van Co's shop is unique, so the final price will depend on the client's vision and will be impacted by factors like the size of the van, the complexity of the build, and the materials and finishings used.
